communal or separate slings?

Hello all. I have two Emperor slings, from the same brood, that are about 2.25 inches from head to tail. So far, they have been housed in a large critter keeper with appropriate substrate depth, two hides, water and all other basic needs. My question is, should I separate them? They like to hang out in one hole/hide together, but as they get closer to molting time, I'm wondering if it would be okay to separate them to keep them safe and dissuade cannibalism. And, if I do, when is it okay/safe, to reintroduce them as they will be living in a 30 gal long tank together eventually. Thanks so much
